AU Press makes the book available for free in Adobe Acrobat (.pdf) format. You may download the entire publication or selected chapters.

This book is worth exploring. It may not turn you into a "pro from Dover" (to draw on the line from the movie Mash). However, it should help you better understand how to use technology when you design course materials and share them with your students.

Enjoy.

question by Robin Campbell

I am in my final semester to earn my associates degree in accounting at Elmira Business Institute in Elmira, NY and want to know if you have any thoughts on the credibility of online schools such as: Phoenix, Kaplan, or any others. In the small amount of research that I have done it seems as though online schools are less credible than regular universities. I want to pursue a bachelors degree in accounting while I am working; however, I do not want to waste my money on a school that is not credible to most employers. I somewhat understand the accrediting concept. Does accredited equal credible in all cases? Do you have any suggestions? Thanks

First thanks is due to Richard Lillie for setting up this blog. I found it in no time.

I recently started teaching large accounting classes and students at the back can't see what I write on the board clearly. I don't do that many power point slides. I am considering buying a tablet computer to write on and have that displayed on the projector.

Any advice or experiences would be useful. Also, does anyone have comments comparing a plain tablet [e.g. ipad] to a full laptop tablet?

Thanks, Gulraze Wakil

In Gmail, this is pretty easy to do. Start by logging into your Gmail account.

In the upper right hand corder of the screen, click SETTINGS.

On the SETTINGS page, click the FILTERS tab.

You will see a set of text boxes to be filled in.

Put the email address addresses of people who you wish to have forwarded to your cell phone in the FROM box.

Click NEXT.

On the next screen, put a CHECK next to the box that says FORWARD IT TO.

This is where you type the EMAIL ADDRESS of your CELL PHONE.

Use instructions below to find your cell phone's email address.

Click CREATE FILTER.

You're done.

more

FIND YOUR CELL PHONE'S EMAIL ADDRESS

Pickup your cell phone.

Openyour cell phone.

Navigate to your Contacts list.

Create an entry for your personal/business/university email address (e.g., Gmail email address).

Navigate to your cell phone's text message app.

Create a text message.

Address it to your home/business/university email address.

Press SEND.

Log in to your personal/business/university email account (i.e., Gmail account), find the email sent to you from your cell phone.

The FROM address should be your cell phone number followed by @your provider.com.

For example, text messages from Verizon Wireless, come from 3211234567@vtext.com (where 3211234567 is your area code & phone number).

Take note of the address which starts with your cell phone number. That's your cell phone's email address.
